Zack has off this week for Sukkot, so we went to the park this morning. We have only visited this particular playground once before, but Zack remembered it very well and talked about the friend he played with there and what they did.
In other news, the milk supply seems to have dried up, so no more nursing for Zack. He is taking it in stride.
What Zack said over his second bowl of Cheerios this morning:
"The story of the Cheerios. And the milk. Once there were some Cheerios. Once there was some milk. And a spoon. And a bowl. And there was me, at home, sitting on my chair. And I spilled some Cheerios and some milk. And there was a mess. And I ate up all the Cheerios. And all the milk. The end."
The dinosaurs were okay, but Zack wasn't unduly impressed. He did like sitting on this dinosaur bone. He was more interested in the other kids than in any of the displays.
The biggest hit in the museum was probably this table full of polished stones in the gift shop.
School closed for Yom Kippur, so we went to the park this morning.
Zack was selling pizza. I asked if I could buy some, and he said, "Wait, I have to put it in the oven. It has to bake for forty minutes." And he put it in the oven and went to play on the other structure, but he kept coming back to check the oven, and saying, "Nope, sorry, not ready yet!" It didn't take forty minutes for it to bake, but it did take about fifteen. And then he gave it to me and said, "Wait! It's too hot! You have to blow it!" And then he watched me eat it for a minute and then came and sat down in my lap and asked, "Can I have some too?" And so we shared the pretend pizza until it was all finished. The pretend games are getting more and more real for him.
Zack started a new school year today. He had so much fun! There was no fussing or crying, hopefully no adjustment period this year. When we woke up in the morning, I told him he was going to school today, and he said, "I will miss you so much," and he looked like he knew exactly what that meant, but it didn't seem to upset him. He was very willing to go, and helped get ready. When we got there, he ran inside and didn't pay any attention to me anymore---he was very happy to be there. He napped with no problem and was happy and calm when I went to pick him up. Here are some photos that the teacher took today.
"I made myself!"
Circle time. Zack has his own chair with his photo and name on it, and that makes him happy.
Playing in the nice outdoor space with friends from his last class who are also in this class. The teacher said they were a little posse today.
