Zack first rolled over front to back very early, at three weeks. But then he had a couple of months of stomach issues, and cried whenever he was put down, and so didn't practice rolling over at all in that time. Now he's happy by himself on the floor again, and in the last 3 or 4 days he's been practicing rolling over back to front in a very systematic and determined way. He has learned to rock to get up momentum, and if you pit him down he's over almost immediately---he thinks it's pretty fun, and he's clearly happy that he has a new trick. Yesterday he was still getting his arm caught under him, but today he's been popping it right out. He is also starting to creep toward toys once he is on his stomach, and his head is held up at a higher angle every day---mostly because he's figured out how to get his arms under him to help hold him up. Before when he wanted to hold his head up, he'd hold all his arms and legs up off the floor too, like superman. It was cute, but he's so top-heavy that when his arms and legs came up, he'd tip forward onto his nose. Now he can lift his head up and leave his arms and legs down, which means he can play on his tummy. He's growing up so fast that there's something new going on every time I turn around.
