Napping at school

Today Zack napped at school, which he's going to start doing two days a week, to up my work hours from 15 to 22 hrs a week. He apparently cried a little going down and waking up, but otherwise seemed to take it in stride pretty well. He was happy at school when I got there at 3. I think we did a good job of setting his expectations for what was going to happen. He is happily playing with Duplos now here at home.

"Wheels on the Bus" noodles

As you can imagine, these were a huge hit.

Bike

We tried this instead of a stroller today. Once we worked out the kinks, it worked pretty well. Not as easy as a stroller on busy streets, and impossible in stores, but Zack loved it.

Prepositions

Zack has really been getting his prepositions down. Before Christmas he mostly used semi-colon-length pauses to separate nouns or nouns and verbs: "Hummus; chair; spoon." Now he is really filling out his sentences: "Zat-Zat need hummus, in a chair, wiff a spoon." (He even is increasingly saying, "Pease.") Here he is, telling me, "Zat-Zat under a table!" However, he still has a few things to work out---today his dad took him for a walk in the morning to give me another hour of sleep, and Zack said, "Trader Joes!" His dad asked, "Do you want to go TO Trader Joes?" And Zack said, "FIVE Trader Joes!" Uh oh, homophones!
