Paint chips from Lowe's

We were shopping for black-out blinds so that Ash won't wake at 5am. Ash is starting to know about color words. He likes saying blue ("booo") and purple ("poopoo") but doesn't quite know which those are, so he holds up any old color and asks: "Boo? Boo?" And when I tell him which color he actually has he tries to say it.

Ash self-aware

Today, a kid asked me what Ash's name was, and Ash got right in his face, banged on his own chest with both fists, and said, "Aaa! Aaa! Aaa! Aaa!"
And he clearly knows that it is himself in the mirror when he tries on my clothes.

Ash and Hannah

They really play together, and they love each other.

Popsicles on the porch

Ash is making all kinds of arguments for why he needs tastes of Zack's popsicle. This was after he had used his own as a drumstick and it fell apart.

Ash talk

"Guy." (Dai.)
Ash puts the wooden pirate into the hold of the pirate ship: "Bye bye, guy."
"Uuunnh! Wah, wah, wah!"
Me: "Is the guy stuck?"
"Stuck! Stuck!" (tuh! tuh!)
Ash gets him out: "Ah! Guy!"
Me: "You got him out! Was he stuck, and that made you mad?"
"Stuck! Stuck! Wah wah wah! Guy."
He acts it out, putting the guy in and taking him out, making a mad face and then laughing.

New leaves

A week or so ago, there was no green out this window. And I didn't jack up the color---this is without filter.

Little stroller

Ash evicted all the toys from his little stroller and had a seat himself. He sat there for quite a while.

Spring!

And literally from one day to the next, there is green on the trees.

We bought a new double stroller, so we could take advantage of the warmer weather and get further from home with our 70lbs+ of baby. I don't love the fact that it feels like driving an SUV, but it definitely makes getting around a lot easier.

Last week walk to Brooklyn Bridge Park
