The cover actually features an octopus and a clam who also want the sandwich.
On this page is actually not a monkey but a xenops bird (thank you animal ABCS books which must scrounge for their X.)
Where the lizard went is green, and where the monkey went is purple.
The lion has three arms, the better for grabbing the sandwich.
