It's raining today, but I had the door to the deck propped open, and Zack went and sat on the threshold for a minute or so looking at the rain and then he came back saying very insistently "Aba, aba, aba." I didn't know what he meant until he pointed at the umbrella we used earlier, hanging in the door. Zack didn't want to play in the rain but he did want to play on the deck---his solution: an umbrella. He was very sure. But it didn't work for long because umbrellas are a little delicate and have lots of sharp points. But it's clear that he knows exactly what an umbrella is for---for when you go outside in the rain.
